Drugstore Blushes I’m Loving for Summer

Given that my blog name is “The Blushing Mom,” I figured I should start off with a post on some of my favorite drugstore blushes for the summer. Fitting, right? Ahhh blush, it is a makeup staple in my opinion. It can give you a nice flush making it look as if you’ve just finished some new trendy workout (one that was slightly challenging, but not too hard), give you a nice pop of color to complete a look or make you look healthy and like you have life to your skin and aren’t Casper the Friendly Ghost.

I’ll be honest when I say that I have WAY TOO MANY blushes!! As in too many to count or ever use probably in my entire lifetime. I can’t help myself! My husband continually tells me I have a makeup buying problem and if I’m being honest, I do! I love trying new formulas, brands, finishes, etc. I am primarily a powder blush girl, but I love a good cream blush now and then. Below you will find pictures of my top blushes for the summer (that you can still buy online or in stores) along with swatches and a brief description of each. I’ve also linked them if you click on the name of the blush where you can go and purchase them yourself. Please feel free to comment below and share your favorites as well! Your girl is always willing to try new ones out!

Physicians Formula Butter Blush in Natural Glow

I would consider this to be more of a blush topper. It has a beautiful shimmery finish that can be used in combination with other blushes or on it’s own if you wish. I also LOVE the scent of this – hello, tropical vacation vibes!

Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso

I’m pretty sure this blush is at the top of the list for a lot of people when it comes to drugstore blushes. It has a beautiful sheen and can go with almost any look. You will not be disappointed with this one and honestly, you can wear it all year round!

Milani Baked Blush in Dolce Pink

Hello Barbie pink with shimmer! This blush adds such a nice pop of color to the face and is so pretty for the summertime, especially if you have a bit of a tan! It will give you a beautiful rosy glow.

Milani Color Harmony Blush in Berry Rays

I happen to like swirling all of the colors together on this blush, so it honestly looks a little different everytime you apply it depending on if you swirl all of the colors, some of them or only use one or a few of the colors. I love a good customizable blush!

Colourpop Super Shock Blush in Count Me In

This blush is so pretty and can go with almost any look! The texture on these is somewhat creamy, but they dry down to a powder and stay so well on the skin! These blushes are so affordable and come in so many colors!

L’Oreal Summer Belle Blush Please! in Blushin in Saint-Tropez

This blush could definitely be used as a bronzer by some. It has a sheen to it, but it isn’t too much and it isn’t glittery. I love this color when I just want a bronzed glow and something to wake up the face.

Milani Powder Blush in Coral Cove

Ok – don’t be scared by this one! I know it looks super intense, but with a light hand it will give you such a nice pop of color. This can honestly be used for all skin tones and it is SUPER pigmented as you can tell. Who doesn’t love a bright pop of coral for the summer?

Here is a swatch of them all side by side for comparison purposes.

So, there you have it! A few different blushes to try out for the summer. I’d love to hear your thoughts or if you’ve tried any of these I’ve listed. As I mentioned before, I’d love to hear your recommendations as well. Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to keep an eye out for my next post!

  1. I looovveeeee Milani blushes. I’m glad you featured them. I have several Colourpop highlighters but I just realized I never tried their blushes and that color is soooo pretty. Looks like I’m trying that next!
